Morton Fishery.
Morton has opened under new management and seems set for huge improvements. I was there today and the fishing was very good with may anglers taking trout. I was fishing C&R as usual (don't really want a freezer full) and took 9 hard fighting rainbows and when I say hard fighting I mean it. The fish were in great condition, far better than the weather which was horrible. All of the trout I caught fell for the same green and white Cats Whisker.
I paid £15 for 4hrs C&R, the boat was included and a life vest was provided which was good to see. Boats are first come first served and when there are non left it's bank fishing. The bank is no longer restricted in any area and thare are plans to build fishing platforms along the wooded left bank as well as an idea to open up the island to bank fishermen. Further improvements are planned on the comfort side of things.
I have to say that the fishing today was a pleasant suprise given that I had poor results last year at Morton but the new management have stocked it up nicely with some real kamikaze Rainbows that fight very hard.
